About Zap
During the mid-1970s, while Zap was studying for a Maths Degree at East Anglia University, he joined the English Civil War Society.
Zap demonstrated a talent to entertain, which was later honed through intensive training and performance all over the UK with a Commedia Dell'Arte troupe called "The Gobbi Players" where his creativity and talent were pushed into the spotlight performing as 'The Magic Cavalier'.
His witty style and performing skills were noted by 'The Shakespeare Tavern' in London where he became the resident magician and a major attraction as a sword fighter.
It didn't take long for word-of-mouth to spread, concerning Zap's unique magical ability, style, and expertise in delivering memorable entertainment. Management at a number of Prestigious Venues, together with 'Event Management Agencies' began calling upon his talents. This led to weekly performances as a resident magician at such stylish locations as Peppermint Park and Coconut Grove (The restaurants to be seen in back in those days).
It became clear that a change of image was required, so, inspired by the Godfather movie, he created a slick character who performed with style and an attitude which no others could match, which swiftly led to regular bookings at the Savoy, The Dorchester, The Grosvenor House Hotel and appearances at numerous hospitality suites and leading Corporate Events.
With over 4 decades performing experience and thousands of miles of travel performing around the world Zap has earned his reputation as a true International Performer having entertained thousands of people from all walks of life with some of the most memorable being: Prince Phillip, Prince Andrew, Hugh Grant, Margaret Thatcher, Sir Richard Branson, Sir Philip Green, Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman, Henry Cooper, George Michael, Chris de Burgh, to name but a few!
